i think you’re supposed to write these in the third person to make yourself sound mysterious and important, but considering i've always hated studying english and grammatical structure, i’m just going to write this however i want.
i live in ventura, california, where i work as a mechanical engineer by day and chase light by evening. most of my photos are the result of my analytical brain trying to find perfect order in the chaotic ocean, usually while i’m out surfing or somewhere i probably shouldn't have a camera.
my background is a weird mix of culinary arts, engineering degrees, software development side quests, and an infinite amount of hobby pursuits. but i think taking photos is just my way of documenting the cool stuff i see while doing all of that.
so with that being said, i am dylan astrup and i like to take photos.
